After careful consideration of the education and practical background of Indian physiotherapist, our professional counsellor (Mr Safdar Ali Syed) who is a qualified Indian physiotherapist working for the National Health Service in the United Kingdom as an Advanced physiotherapy practitioner & MSK sonographer has robustly negotiated with Professor Jeremy Lewis to organise this course in India.
This is an exclusive course first time organised internationally in which we have both online (theory) and practical modules. This course will cover extensive theory and hands-on practical session’s enabling participants to get a good grip on the practical hands-on experience directly under Professor Lewis tainted tutors. Prof. Jeremy Lewis
Prof. Jeremy Lewis is a Consultant Physiotherapist and Professor of Musculoskeletal Research (University of Hertfordshire, UK, and University of Limerick, Ireland). He was born in New Zealand and trained in Australian. He works in the UK National Health Service. He has been awarded a Fellowship of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, which is the highest award the CSP can offer. He has been acknowledged as an eminent clinician in his profession (UK DoH [Department of Health] National AHP Clinical Expert Database). Clinically Jeremy assesses and treats patients with complex shoulder problems.
Jeremy has also trained as a sonographer and performs ultrasound guided shoulder injections as part of the rehabilitation process if required and appropriate. He has also completed an MSc (Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy), and Postgraduate Diplomas in Sports Physiotherapy, and in Biomechanics, as well as MSc modules in injection therapy for soft tissues and joints. He also has a Postgraduate Certificate in Diagnostic Imaging (Ultrasound) (University of Leeds, UK). He has also qualified as an Independent (non-medical) Prescriber.
Jeremy has taught shoulder workshops internationally in over 40 countries. He has also been invited to present keynote and invited lectures internationally, has appeared on news programs and presented podcasts talking about shoulder problems. His research and publications have been picked up by international news organisations. Jeremy works both clinically and in the academic world and has more than 100 research publications. He has been awarded over GB£3,000,000 million in research grants. His main areas of research interest are rotator cuff related shoulder pain, frozen shoulder, injection therapy, exercise therapy and lateral elbow tendinopathy. He also writes about “The medicalisation of normality in musculoskeletal practice”. In addition to his own research he supervises PhD and MSc students. Jeremy is an associate editor for the Journal of Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy (JOSPT). He was a co-editor and author for Grieve’s Modern Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy (4 th ed). He has written many book chapters and written the forwards for 3 internationally acclaimed physiotherapy text books. Jeremy’s research has challenged the role of posture in many sholder conditions and has challenged the existence and need for surgery for subacromial impingement syndrome:

Course Information
The course will be conducted in two (A & B) Modules.
In these two days of Jeremy Lewis shoulder training course, tutors take you through all aspects of treatment and rehabilitation of the shoulder. A biopsychosocial approach for the assessment and management of musculoskeletal conditions involving the shoulder region. Taught worldwide in over 35 countries, this course is continually updated, integrating the latest research evidence.
In addition to assessment & management of the shoulder region, this course synthesises the complex relationships between; the shoulder & body biomechanics, pain science, lifestyle, patient psychosocial factors, beliefs & expectations, best practice, & more …and is guaranteed to be fun!
- To develop a better understanding and knowledge of the clinical anatomy and biomechanics of the shoulder girdle.
- To appreciate the importance of taking a biopsychosocial approach to patient management.
- To develop a comprehensive subjective and physical evaluation strategy for the shoulder that considers local and referred sources of pain and directs the clinician to establish an appropriate management plan.
- To develop greater confidence with the physical assessment of the shoulder region and a better understanding of the evidence for using the selected assessment techniques.
- To develop a greater understanding and knowledge of various pathologies of the shoulder girdle.
- To develop greater competency in the management of patients with a variety of shoulder pathologies.
- To review the research evidence relating to the influence of posture and muscle imbalance and its relationship with shoulder pathology.
- To review the evidence underpinning the pathology, and the assessment and management of various shoulder conditions, including rotator cuff related shoulder pain and frozen shoulder.
- To review the research evidence evaluating the use of diagnostic imaging as part of the management for musculoskeletal disorders of the shoulder.
- To develop greater confidence in the use of exercise therapy and other techniques for managing shoulder conditions and evaluating the efficacy of the techniques, balanced against the evidence base for using these techniques.
Module A – Online (Theory)
- Professor Jeremy Lewis has developed a modular online educational program that covers the theoretical components of the course.
- The modular online educational program will be given access once you register for the course.
- All participants must complete and pass the training before attending the Practical course.
- Participants will be given a theory exam at the end of the online course and shall be declared pass if they secure 50% of marks in theory. Once after completion of a theory exam, the participants will be allowed to get into practical’s (offline)
Module B – Offline (Practical)
- Practicals/training will be conducted for 2 days by London Shoulder clinic certified tutor (LSCCT)
- Practical is thought by those tutors who have achieved an acceptable standard determined by Professor Lewis, and Professor Lewis provided those that have reached that standard with a teaching certificate.
- All those granted the teaching certificate (Instructors/tutors) can conduct Professor Jeremy Lewis shoulder course in India.
- All those who complete the course under the instructors/tutors will be provided with a certificate with Professor (Professor Jeremy Lewis signature if they met the standard).
- Professor Lewis will constantly evaluate teaching standers for Instructors/tutors.
- All certificates will have online verification.
Fee Structure
